About the Daycare
Discovery Early Learning & Care is a not-for-profit childcare agency dedicated to providing children, families, and professionals with opportunities to learn through relationship building, collaboration, inquiry, and play. We offer stimulating learning opportunities through an emergent curriculum to help children develop to their maximum potential. We are guided by our Program Statement and the âHow Does Learning Happen?â Document through the Ministry of Education. This site offers care for toddler and preschool-aged children. We offer programs for infants, toddlers, preschoolers, JK/SK, and school-aged children, including before and after school care and summer break programs. Our programs focus on play-based learning and providing a nurturing and supportive environment for children to grow and learn.

Programs Offered
Our small group size allows children the opportunity to develop trusting relationships with the teaching team. The childâs daily schedule is accommodated by the educators so we know exactly when our infants need to nap, eat and are involved in various planned activities such as music, creative, gym and playing with our wide variety of age-appropriate toys. Outdoor walks and play offers infants varied sensory and gross motor experiences. We work closely with families to understand infantâs unique schedule and needs. Daily written communications of your childâs day helps keep families connected.

Our READY for SCHOOL preschool program is filled with investigation, and exploration, where active and eager children can refine and expand their skills and knowledge. Our teachers ensure that the preschoolers have exciting, appropriate, and meaningful learning experiences that lead to success in school and in life.

Children have fun sharing games, participating gross motor activities, cooking, art and much more. Our approach ensures that children are exposed to a diverse areas of learning activities and that they thrive in all areas of child development, creative thinking, problem solving, collaboration, investigation, and decision making.
Through purposefully-designed learning environments, and enriched activities, children are eager for new challenges that promote their independence, close friendships, acceptance of more responsibilities and their self-confidence.
Our curriculum supports children who are attending school for the first time with the skills and confidence needed in order to make a successful and seamless transition to school.
Children come in and have the choice to relax in our comfortable quiet library area or to engage in play before heading off to school. Homemade snack is served every morning for the children to help themselves.
