About the Daycare

(Gi) Kinaa'amaadiiwigamingoons Little Teaching Lodge Aboriginal Head Start is a preschool program for Indigenous preschoolers and their families. It operates four half-days a week. The program centers around the belief that children are a gift from the Creator, have a right to learn their Aboriginal languages and histories, and are integral parts of their communities. Elders play a crucial role in the children's education, guiding them to love learning throughout their lives. The program emphasizes experiential learning through watching, listening, and doing. Priority enrollment is given to Indigenous children (First Nations, Métis, or Inuit) the year before kindergarten. Children must be toilet trained and not already enrolled in a full-time centre.
