About the Daycare

(Gi) Kinaa'amaadiiwigamingoons Little Teaching Lodge Aboriginal Head Start is an Aboriginal Head Start preschool program for Indigenous preschoolers and their families. The program operates four half-days a week and is rooted in the belief that children are a gift from the Creator, have a right to learn their Aboriginal languages and histories, and deserve opportunities to gain knowledge and experience of how to live a good life. Elders play a vital role in guiding children's learning and development. The program prioritizes Indigenous children (First Nations, Métis, or Inuit) in the year prior to kindergarten. Children must be toilet trained and not enrolled in a full-time centre.
