About the Daycare
Kanawenimawasowin Child Care Centre Inc. is a non-profit, Indigenous-focused childcare centre offering infant and preschool care. They provide a full meal program and aim to introduce a Cree language program. The centre has six rooms, each with one Early Childhood Educator (ECE) and one Child Care Assistant (CCA). The director is Level 3 certified, and the assistant is Level 2. Priority is given to University College of the North (UCN) students, following their academic calendar. The centre reopened on April 29th, 2024, following a flood and will close for the summer on June 14th, 2024.
