The Malton Neighbourhood Services Youth Academic Support Program offers several initiatives for youth. The Homework Club provides free drop-in homework help for students in grades 1-8. High school students can volunteer as tutors to earn community service hours. This program runs twice a week during the school year. The After School Program (ASP) is for youth in grades 6-8, running three days a week (Monday, Wednesday, and Thursday) from 3 pm to 6 pm. It focuses on health and wellness through physical activities, healthy food choices, nutrition education (with free snacks), and wellness/personal health education (workshops and guest speakers). Educational and Employment Counselling Support provides individual counselling to youth ages 12-25, assisting with personal relationships, goal setting, and life decisions. This support also includes help finding summer/part-time jobs or volunteer work, resume/cover letter writing, and skills/career development.
