Michif Children's Place is a school-age childcare centre that follows an emergent curriculum with a pedagogical approach. The children's experiences, surroundings, and equipment are based on observations of their interests, allowing them to explore play, bring nature inside, and engage with speakers and field trips. Activities are documented daily, and multi-cultural activities, highlighting Métis culture, are incorporated. The centre maintains open communication with parents and welcomes their participation in the learning journey. A meal program (AM & PM snacks and lunch on inservice days & breaks) is provided at no charge.
We follow an Emergent based curriculum with a Pedagogical approach. Meaning, the children's experiences, surroundings, and equipment are based on observations of their interests that allow them to explore play, bring nature inside, extend their interests in items, activities, and engage with speakers and field trips.
