Niigaanaki Day Care Centre Inc.

Niigaanaki Day Care Centre is a 42-space licensed child care centre located in Winnipeg's inner city (Spence/Central Park/Downtown). We provide daily child care services to 32 preschoolers (ages 2-4 years) and 10 Kindergarten (5 year olds). Niigaanaki Day Care Centre is a non-profit/charitable organization that provides quality childcare to families in Winnipeg's Central Park/Spence neighbourhoods. On a daily basis, the staff delivers developmentally appropriate activities based on the interests of the children. The centre is committed to offering healthy food choices at snack, 2x per day and supplement missing food groups for children at lunch. Niigaanaki’s esthetics are based on the colours of nature with lots of wood and green/brown tones. The majority of toys on the shelves are not made from plastic. We believe that an environment like this allows children to focus on experimenting, questioning and exploring different types of items and ideas, such as Loose Parts (everyday objects with endless use).
