About the Daycare
Playmaternelle is a licensed early learning program located within Ecole Saint Norbert Immersion School. We operate daily from 8:40 AM to 3:20 PM, with programming from September to June. We provide care options for families on days their children aren't in kindergarten, following the Seine River School Division's 6-day school week calendar. Students attending both Playmaternelle and Maternelle at ESNI are eligible for full-time busing. We're staffed by an ECE II and a child care assistant, meeting provincial licensing requirements.
Our aim is to complement the Maternelle curriculum with play-based learning, fostered by an emergent curriculum and free play. A bilingual component encourages French language skills. We promote school readiness through routines, school-wide events, and collaboration with the Maternelle teacher.
