The University of Winnipeg Students Association (UWSA) Day Care Centre is a provincially licensed, non-profit child care center offering high-quality, inclusive care for infants, toddlers, and preschoolers in Downtown Winnipeg. Established in January 1974, the centre provides 144 spaces, with 32 for infants/toddlers and 112 for preschool children. Full-time and part-time care options are available. A significant portion (85%) of the staff possess 2+ years of post-secondary education in child care and development (ECE II and ECE III). The centre offers Indigenous education, music programs, and regular yoga classes. Older children benefit from unique programs provided in partnership with the University of Winnipeg, including the Wee Wesmen program and Letβs talk science, along with access to RecPlex and Duckworth Centre facilities. Two nutritious snacks and milk are provided for lunch.
